October is Fair Trade Month, a time to celebrate a market-based movement that brings individuals and communities around the world out of poverty. Ten Thousand Villages Cobourg sells food and craft products that are certified fair trade, meaning your purchases not only support this local not-for-profit, but communities, farmers, and artisans worldwide.

To celebrate Fair Trade Month, we will be hosting Indro Dasgupta, director of Craft Resource Centre in India to town. He will be presenting “Tranforming Lives Through Fair Trade: The CRC Story” at the Cobourg Public Library’s Rotary Room October 6 at 2:00 pm. Admission is free.
