Tipi Gathering: Preserving Survivor Stories

  • Dibaajimowin Cultural Centre, 5595 Macklin Rd, Alderville First Nation, K0K 2X0 (map)

Hosted by the Dibaajimowin Cultural Centre, you are invited to join Masha Smoke and elders of Alderville First Nation around the tipi fire to hear about the work that is being done to preserve survivor stories and other indigenous oral history.

The Dibaajimowin Cultural Centre reminds us “Telling stories is one of the most powerful means to influence, teach, transit, and inspire. When it comes to our nations, our communities, and our families, we understand instinctively that the stories we hold in common are an important part of what makes us who we are and who we will be.

Alderville artists and artisans will be displaying and selling their creations around the tipi. Orange t-shirts, and red t-shirts will also be available for purchase.

This event is sponsored by Moccasin Trails, Engineered Road Access Matting Solutions.
