Mary Poppins: The Musical Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's Mary Poppins production, has garnered numerous awards and has been performed internationally. Set in early 1900’s London, the story unfolds as the Banks family is looking for a new nanny to look after their misbehaving children - Jane and Michael. The magical Mary Poppins flies in on the wind, answering Mr. Bank’s advert ,and brings with her a combination of whimsey and common sense. With the help of a ‘jack of all trades’ named Bert, Mary takes the children on magical adventures, all the while imparting life lessons that begin to transform the dysfunctional family and help them to realize that anything can happen if you let it.
Mary Poppins: The Musical has music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, and a book by Julian Fellowes. Mary Poppins is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
