Herbalism in the Kitchen: Basics of Herbalism and Building your Home Apothecary
Build your apothecary and the confidence to use herbs at home with this introductory herbalism course. This workshop is for the herb curious, for those who want to learn how to make more potent herbal remedies and incorporate herbs in their daily lives. We will go over simple herbal preparations, such as: herbal vinegars, herbal honeys, oxymels, syrups, and infused oils. We will look at how best to store and use herbs from your garden or herbs you forage. Participants will take home two herbal preparations of their choice.
Kitchen herbalism is one of my favourite ways to use herbs. I'm more likely to reach for an herbal tea or infused vinegar than a tincture, because these preparations are more accessible and easy to incorporate into my food. When you make food your medicine, herbalism weaves its way into your daily life.
